Rickwood designed every millimetre of this downtown loft around two anchor pieces: a charcoal-stained oak media wall and a slatted white-oak study niche that conceals a fold-down guest bed. Matte brass pockets, pulls, and picture lights punctuate the dark cabinetry, turning book cubbies and hidden AV panels into moments of display. In the adjoining lounge, a custom demi-lune pendant and blackened-oak coffee table echo the cabinetry’s curves, while slim fluted drawer fronts repeat on the night-stand marble tops, tying living and sleeping zones together without a single visible screw.
The materials palette is rich yet disciplined—black oak, brushed brass, ivory brick, and leather—allowing art, books, and greenery to pop without clutter. Soft-close hardware, integrated LED strips, and hand-rubbed finishes speak to the studio’s quiet obsession with detail: doors align to the width of a pencil line, and grain flows uninterrupted from panel to panel.
